Recent Advances in Population Genomics of Plant-Parasitic Nematodes

Plant-parasitic nematodes are a costly burden of crop production. Ubiquitous in nature, phytoparasitic associated with nearly every important agricultural and represent significant constraint on global food security. Population genetics is key discipline plant nematology to understand aspects the life strategies these parasites, particular their modes reproduction, geographic origins, evolutionary histories, dispersion abilities. Advances high-throughput sequencing technologies have enabled recent but active effort genomic analyses plant-parasitic nematodes. Such approaches applied multiple populations providing new insights into molecular processes that underpin establishment better understanding genetic mechanistic basis pathogenicity adaptation host plants. In this review, we attempt update information about genome resources genotyping techniques useful for nematologists who thinking initiating population genomics or projects.
